The Halal Trust is committed to certifying halal products that are tayyeb (wholesome). When certifying a halal partner we thoroughly check all ingredients used to make the products to ensure that they are not harmful to human health and wellbeing.
ALL PRODUCTS ARE FREE OF
GMOs
The Halal Trust does not allow the use of GMO-ingredients within the production of halal products.
This decision was reached after looking at the concenus (ijma) of the religious scholars as well as studying the scientific evidence which indicated serious health concerns regarding GMOs.
SPECIFIC ADDITIVES
The Halal Trust does not allow the use of certain ingredients including MSG and aspartame.
The purpose of halal is to produce tayyeb (wholesome), safe products. Some halal certifiers allow the use of ingredients like MSG and aspartame but The Halal Trust due to health concerns does not allow their use.
ETHANOL
The Halal Trust ensures that no ethanol is added as an ingredient to the final product.
We check for the presence of alcohol during our Product Analsyis step within our certification process to quantitatively ensure that there is no ethanol in the final product being produced.
