HALAL IS HEALTHY - VITAMIN D FOR LIFE

The rise of vitamin deficiencies in part due to dietary lifestyle choices has been linked to chronic disease.  As part of The Halal Trust's "Halal is Healthy" campaign we are focusing on increasing awareness of Vitamin D deficiency and the health problems this causes.

Halal consumers many of whom have darker skin types (higher melanin content) are more likely to be deficient in this essential steroid hormone.  We are committed to raising awareness of this health issue for the benefit of all consumers.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

As a consumer advocacy organisation, The Halal Trust is committed to supporting consumers in leading healthier and happier lives.  It is increasingly being accepted that many modern diseases are due to lifestyle, diet and deficiencies in key nutrients required by the human body.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mounted the pulpit, then wept and said:

"Ask Allah SWT (God Almighty) for forgiveness and health, for after being granted certainty, one is given nothing better than health."

(Tirmidhi)

As highlighted by the saying of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) above, human beings have been created to be healthy as a natural, normal state.  This leads to a happy, fulfilling life as Allah (SWT) intended for all human beings.

HOW TO OPTIMISE VITAMIN D3

Vitamin D Guide

In this video you will learn to optimise Vitamin D and its critical role in healthy functioning of the human body.

Exposure to the sun is the ideal way of producing sufficient Vitamin D naturally.  If you have a darker skin type, due to higher levels of melanin in your skin  and insufficient sunlight in the UK you are more likely to be deficient in Vitamin D.

Other sources of Vitamin D are egg yolk, salmon and tuna as well as high quality supplements.
